Politiswap (April 2025)

Politiswap was a political trading app built on Uniswap V4. We tokenized all 541 members of Congress at the time and built a novel trading and rewards system to gameify the experience. The motivation behind the project was to build a differentiated alternative to prediction markets. While prediction markets are binary and time-boxed, "poltokens" on Politiswap were continous and unbounded. The logic goes that the Speaker of the House should trade at a higher price than a first term congressperson from a flyover state. There is intelligence to be derived from the relative prices they trade at. For politicians or any other public figures in 2025, power is at least partially a function of the attention they command. This dynamic reminded us of memecoins and Politiswap could be described as prediction markets as memecoins. We intend to explore this framework again in an upcoming project.

Politiswap launched in April and generated 7 figures in trading volume while becoming a significant topic of conversation in the Base ecosystem. We had an community actively trading on our app and participating in the daily trading competition for several months.

We learned a lot from this project and are looking forward to bringing some elements of it back in future projects.
